Vidzeme Open 2015

Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences Debate Society together with Latvian Debate Association 'QUO tu domā?', SEB bank and European Commission representation in Latvia as well as VUAS Student's Council are proud to present the 4th round of the Latvian Debate Championship.

Vidzeme Open 2015 will take place from April 25th to April 26th. There will be great debates. There will be an awesome CA team. And our social will hold the standard for all other socials for the rest of your life.

Tournament will be held in BP format and you'll have 5 rounds of 5 minute speeches, semi-finals and the final – both with 7 minute speeches.

Chief adjudicators: Gustaf Lundgren, Harish Natarajan

Gustaf has a myriad of accomplishments and an impressive winning streak in the past year alone: ESL World finalist 2014, Winner of SSE Riga IV 2014 AND 2013, Winner of Estonian Open 2014 and Best Speaker of Turku Open 2014.

Harish has been around the debating block for a while, he besieged the European Debating Championship for 3 years being a finalist in 2010, 2011 and finally conquering and winning in 2012. He's the champion of Cambridge IV, LSE Open and nearly countless other competitions. He's also been kind enough to turn to judging and has done so at such impressive events as Cambridge IV, Oxford IV, the 2014 World Championships and has a future gig as the Chief Adjudicator at the 2016 European Debating Championship.
